Employment of people with disability
20 Nov 2009
The State Service is an equal opportunity employer that utilises the diversity of the community it services. An e-brochure has been developed to promote the Government's employment program for people with disability and to raise the awareness of the benefits of participating in the program.
Right Job Right Person is now being rolled out across the Department of Health and Human Services and has been received enthusiastically by all employees.
The roll out involves training all hiring managers on the benefits of using the Right Job Right Person framework.
The HR Capability Framework aims to provide a clear pathway for development for HR professionals as well as people with people and supervisory responsibilities. It does this through providing a structure for developing specific areas for skills and knowledge and for professional accreditation.
Tasmanian’s step up!
Tasmania is leading the world in supporting a healthier workforce through the Global Corporate Challenge (GCC).
The GCC is a 125-day pedometer-based activity which encourages employees to be active and healthy as part of their working day. The 2009 challenge runs from 21 May to 22 September
As part of the Planning for our Future project, a State Workforce Profile was developed along with profiles for individual agencies.
As one of the recommendations from the State Workforce Profile report, agencies were invited to nominate representatives to attend the Workforce Planning and Demographics Network.
There are five main themes of People Directions. Each of these themes focuses on a specific area of people management in the State Service and contains a number of specific projects. Click on one of the buttons below to find out more.
